As part of efforts to prevent property crimes, Civil Guard officers in Mijas have arrested a 39-year-old individual. The operation took place last April when officers stopped a suspicious vehicle circulating late at night in the town.
During the vehicle inspection, three public lighting fixtures, along with approximately eight meters of wiring, were found in the trunk. Various tools were also discovered, including wrenches, a chisel, a mallet, and a ratchet with its heads, commonly used for such thefts.
Subsequently, investigations led to the identification of the exact location from which the light fixtures were stolen, with the poles found bent on the sidewalk of a housing development in the municipality. The detainee has been handed over to judicial authorities.
