The Rosa Fina Flamenco Festival reaches its ninth edition in Casares, bringing together prominent artists of flamenco and Andalusian root music. The event will take place on Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, in an emblematic setting: the town's historic center, declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
The opening day, Friday, August 21, will be dedicated to root music. It will begin at 9:00 PM in the Plaza de España with a parade by the verdiales group Raíces de Los Moras. Later, at 10:30 PM, Balateabajo, an orchestra of root music from the Alpujarra region, will perform. The night will conclude at 11:30 PM with the proposal of Raúl Rodríguez Trío, exploring musical connections between Andalusia, Africa, and the Caribbean, accompanied by Juanfe Pérez on bass and Jimmy González on drums.
Saturday, August 22, will focus on flamenco. The evening will start at 10:30 PM with Al-Blanco on vocals and El Peli on guitar, presenting a contemporary language rooted in tradition. At 11:20 PM, guitarist Daniel Casares, a leading figure in new flamenco guitar, will offer a preview of his upcoming album. The festival's closing act, at 12:00 AM, will be dancer Rafaela Carrasco, winner of the National Dance Award in 2023, accompanied by a flamenco ensemble featuring Jesús Torres on guitar and Miguel Ortega and Antonio Campos on vocals.
This edition's poster, created by Patricio Hidalgo, reflects the festival's commitment to dialogue between tradition and contemporary creation. All performances are free and will take place in Plaza Marcelino Camacho.
