The future infrastructure will be located on a plot of over 8,400 square meters, ceded by the Torremolinos City Council. This project seeks to consolidate all judicial bodies and services into a single space, which will facilitate better organization and more efficient service for citizens.
The Torremolinos Court of First Instance, which also serves Benalmádena, will feature a Civil Section and an Instruction Section, each with five judicial positions. Additionally, it will include Common Processing Services, General and Enforcement Services, as well as the Civil Registry, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.
The social impact of this project is undeniable, as it seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of the judicial system, improve victim protection, and guarantee user privacy, offering better resources to both citizens and professionals.
The agreement stipulates that the Provincial Council and the Ministry of Justice will equally share the construction costs. Both institutions have highlighted the importance of this initiative for the functioning of the judicial system in the region. Ownership of the building will be split 50/50 between both administrations, and the Provincial Council will cede the use of the unused portion to the Junta de Andalucía for a minimum of 30 years, in exchange for a fee.
The formalization of this agreement follows the approval by the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía on March 30, which authorized the Ministry of Justice to proceed with the expenditure corresponding to its 50% share of the total cost for the judicial headquarters.
