The exhibition, open until November 1st, was inaugurated by the president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, accompanied by the delegate for Culture, Gabriel Duque, and the artists themselves. Fuentes highlighted the depth and emotion of the exhibition, which not only presents the work of two creators but also tells a family story through art.
The collection includes 18 portraits that José Luis Muñoz has created annually of his daughter Violeta since 2006, documenting her growth from childhood to the present day, coinciding with the start of her Fine Arts studies. The artist incorporates his own creative world, his relationship with culture and fantasy, into these portraits, blending personal life and artistic creation.
Alongside the father's perspective, the exhibition features the works of Violeta Muñoz, who is in a phase of exploration and construction of her artistic oeuvre. Fuentes noted that the exhibition highlights both continuity and artistic independence between father and daughter.
This exhibition also marks the inauguration of a new exhibition hall at the Botí Center, a space designed for small and medium-format exhibitions that can also host presentations and conferences. This initiative responds to artists' requests for a suitable venue for cohesive projects.
The president of the Provincial Council emphasized that this opening makes better use of the building, transforming an administrative space into an area dedicated to creation and cultural activity. This action is part of the effort to enhance the Patio de la Botí, aiming to provide opportunities for a greater number of artists and accommodate diverse generations, disciplines, and styles.
Fuentes concluded that Cordoban art is experiencing a dynamic period, and the Botí Foundation seeks to support and showcase this diversity. The ‘Violeta’ exhibition will allow visitors to discover the story of a father and daughter united by drawing and painting.
