The Flora 2026 festival has confirmed the participation of two prominent international artists for its upcoming edition: Iranian-American Tulipina (real name Kiana Underwood) and Englishman Hamish Powell. Both creators will showcase their talent in Córdoba from October 12 to 22, 2026, in an event that solidifies the Andalusian city as a hub for contemporary floral art and botany.
Tulipina will present her installation in the iconic Mezquita-Catedral of Córdoba, sponsored by the Cabildo Catedral de Córdoba. Meanwhile, Hamish Powell will exhibit his work at the historic Palacio de Viana, supported by the Kutxabank-Palacio de Viana Foundation. The announcement coincides with a preliminary visit by the artists to the city to scout the locations for their installations.
Kiana Underwood, founder and creative director of Tulipina since 2011, is recognized as a key figure in the modern floral movement. Her style is characterized by bold use of color, unexpected textures, and unique floral combinations, merging art with nature. She has worked for major brands and her work is featured in prestigious publications. She shares her knowledge through workshops, inspiring floral designers worldwide, drawing inspiration from her Persian heritage, classical art, and natural beauty.
Hamish Powell, a multidisciplinary floral artist based in London, founded his creative studio at the age of 23. With his team, he creates immersive botanical installations and sculptural floral works exploring our emotional connection with the natural world. His art blends architectural sensibility with intuitive, emotion-driven processes, addressing themes like ephemerality and memory. He has collaborated with brands like Tom Ford, and his work has appeared in publications such as Vogue and Forbes, which named him to its 30 Under 30 Europe list.
Tulipina and Hamish Powell join the previously confirmed artists FLOVER (United States) and Taller Banegas (Spain) for the ninth edition of Flora. The winner of the Patio Talento competition will be announced soon.
The festival currently has two open calls: one for artistic assistants, closing June 14, and another for the Programa Off, closing June 21, which will offer grants ranging from 600 to 300 euros for selected proposals. More information is available at www.festivalflora.com.
