Students with special educational needs (SEN) attending regular classrooms, with specific support, have seen an increase in Kindergarten, Primary, and Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) stages in the province of Córdoba during the 2024-25 academic year. These figures are derived from the reports State of Childhood and Adolescence in Andalucía (OIAA) 2025 and 2026, compiled by the Observatory of Childhood and Adolescence of Andalucía from official information.
Across these three educational stages, which encompass compulsory schooling and the early years of education, Córdoba has seen its number of students with SEN rise from 5,586 in the 2023-24 academic year to 5,947 in 2024-25. This represents an increase of 361 students, a growth of 6.5%.
The growth has been most concentrated in the Primary education stage, where the number of students with special educational needs has risen from 2,608 to 2,868, adding 260 students. In ESO, the increase was 96 students, moving from 1,454 to 1,550. In Kindergarten, the rise was more modest, with 1,524 students recorded in the previous academic year and 1,529 in the current one.
