The convergence of several incidents on the railway network has led to significant delays on services arriving at or departing from the Cordoban capital. According to ADIF, the situation impacts connections with Madrid as well as services to or from Seville, Málaga, Barcelona, Huelva, and Almería.
The problems stem from two distinct, overlapping causes. Firstly, the consequences of railway material theft in Castilla-La Mancha persist, disrupting the Madrid-Andalucía high-speed line. This is compounded by an infrastructure incident between Hornachuelos and Guadajoz, within the Cordoban section, where overhead line repairs are underway.
This combination of factors is creating a domino effect across numerous rail services, affecting high-speed trains such as Renfe's AVE and Avlo, as well as services from Iryo and Ouigo.
Some routes are experiencing particularly significant delays. The Avlo 02156, scheduled to depart from Córdoba to Seville at 17:03, has had its departure postponed until 19:06. This same train, arriving from Madrid, was delayed by almost two hours.
Other affected services include the AVE 02360 bound for Seville, with over an hour's delay; the AVE 02162 towards Málaga, accumulating nearly 45 minutes; and the Iryo 06014, whose passage through Córdoba has been delayed by approximately 40 minutes.
Delays are also occurring on arrivals from Madrid and Barcelona. The Avlo 02176 from the capital is delayed by half an hour, while the Iryo 06014 from Barcelona Sants arrives in Córdoba nearly 40 minutes late.
Additionally, some Alvia services are experiencing disruptions due to ongoing works that necessitate bus transfers for certain segments. An example is the train bound for Almería, where the journey between Huércal Viator and the Almerian capital is being completed by bus.
Both Renfe and the railway infrastructure managers are working to restore normal service, although delays continued to be registered on numerous trains passing through Córdoba late into the evening.
