A representative from the Popular Party has stated that Andalusia is positioned as “more social than ever,” with Córdoba serving as a clear example of this advancement. It was emphasized that over 5,000 people in the province have recently joined the dependency system, demonstrating broader coverage and more effective care.
“"Andalusia has reached record figures in the dependency system, exceeding 338,000 beneficiaries and 523,000 benefits, while waiting times have been reduced by more than two years."
These statements were made during a meeting with Fepamic, a key entity in social inclusion and support for people with physical and organic disabilities. In Córdoba, over 32,500 people receive care through the dependency system, with more than 50,000 active benefits. In the last year alone, the province has added over 5,000 new beneficiaries.
Furthermore, the crucial role of employment as a driver of inclusion has been emphasized. In Córdoba, the employment rate for people with disabilities has grown to 24.1%, six percentage points higher than in 2018, while unemployment has significantly decreased. Fepamic's work has been recognized as a model of inclusion that generates opportunities and autonomy.
The Popular Party has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public policies that integrate social care, accessibility, and employment, in collaboration with the third sector. It was highlighted that funding for these centers has increased by 32% since the current Andalusian government took office, demonstrating a focus on concrete measures and active listening to professionals in the sector.
In other news, a Popular Party representative criticized the stalled works on the connection between La Colada and Sierra Boyera, a vital infrastructure for drinking water supply in northern Córdoba. It was recalled that this project, halted in 2009, was resumed by the Andalusian government with an investment of 13 million euros, but its execution is currently blocked by the central government.
