The degrees in Medicine and Nursing at the University of Córdoba (UCO) have attracted over half of the 18,097 pre-registration applications for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year, reinforcing health sciences as the preferred choice.

The Medicine and Nursing degrees at the University of Córdoba (UCO) are the most in-demand during the current pre-registration period, with a combined total of 9,842 applications. Specifically, the Medicine degree has received 5,187 applications, while Nursing has garnered 4,655. Both programs, known for their high cut-off grades, have traditionally been favored by students beginning their university education in Andalusia, not just at the UCO.

At the Andalusian level, the Regional Ministry of Universities reports that 41.4% of students (30,868 out of 74,626 total applicants) have included health science degrees in their pre-registration. Within this group, women form a clear majority, with 23,182 applicants compared to 7,686 men.
Of the total students opting for Health Sciences, 73.8% (22,777) reside in Andalusia, 25.4% come from other autonomous communities, and 0.79% are international applicants. Within Andalusia, Seville leads applications for these careers with 6,019, followed by Málaga (3,819) and Cádiz (3,113).
The final cut-off grades, determined by the ratio of applications to available places, will be published on Friday, July 3rd, with the first allocation of spots. The enrollment and place reservation period will run until July 9th.
