Manuel Lombo, a renowned artist from Seville, will perform this Saturday, June 20, to launch the White Night of Flamenco at the emblematic Plaza de las Tendillas in Córdoba. This event represents a peak in the singer's career, who has steadily climbed the ranks in the national music and television scene.
Lombo will perform songs from his acclaimed album "Lombo x Bambino", a show designed for the occasion that aims to vindicate the figure of Bambino, a flamenco icon whose work has been fundamental to the artist's career. "It seemed like a good idea to revisit 'Lombo x Bambino' because, furthermore, Bambino was a much-discussed flag bearer for flamenco," Lombo explained.
The artist has expressed his special connection with Córdoba, recalling his participation in the first White Night in 2008 and past collaborations at the Baratillo de Adevida. "I have always felt very supported by the public in Córdoba," he stated, highlighting the warmth and response from the Cordoban audience in his previous performances.
Lombo has reflected on his musical evolution, moving from orthodox flamenco beginnings to a broader vision encompassing other genres. "I consider myself more of a singer as I have a wider musical range," he noted, while maintaining his deep respect for traditional flamenco.
Regarding contemporary flamenco, Lombo describes it as "a living, international music, and at the same time, music of an immense minority," acknowledging its depth and the work of artists who, through fusions, bring this art form to new audiences.
In addition to his musical career, the artist has mentioned his enjoyment of communication and television, aspects he balances with his singing career, thereby increasing his popularity and opening doors for his work as a performer.
