In an interview, Fernández highlighted the implementation of a management model based on responsibility, which has allowed addressing inherited European funded projects and designing new initiatives. Among the advances, an investment of nearly ten and a half million euros in infrastructure is mentioned, with works already completed, under contract, or in their initial phase.
The mayor emphasized the completion of important actions such as those in Juan Jiménez Cuenca, El Peso, the municipal booth, and the hostel. He also highlighted the commitment of the Junta de Andalucía for the construction of a High Resolution Process Center, with an investment exceeding 12 million euros, whose tender is expected in 2027.
“"The goal is for the center's project to be drafted this year and for the work to be tendered in 2027 at the planned location."
Regarding mobility and parking, the Lucena City Council plans to tender the concession for the construction and operation of the parking facility in Huerta del Carmen, which will offer 203 spaces. An intervention in Parque Avenue with European funds for an underground parking lot and the habilitation of plots in areas such as El Galeón are also planned.
Finally, regarding the controversial electricity substation with Cabra, an agreement has been signed between both city councils and AVRA to commission an economic study to determine the most efficient location, whether in Lucena or Cabra.
Regarding attracting investments, a sales brochure has been created to attract potential investors, and although the physical office is not yet operational, its launch is expected soon. The mayor confirmed that the new Mercadona is already in operation and that the municipality will build housing after many years.
