Montoreño businessman Jesús León has decided to join the judicial proceedings investigating the sale of Córdoba CF's productive unit, claiming his company and business group suffered "a patrimonial loss of extraordinary gravity." This decision follows the opening of preliminary proceedings by a judge, prompted by a complaint filed by the company Hartmann & Morato Sports.
The events under investigation occurred in December 2019, shortly after the arrest of former president Jesús León. Following his detention, Francisco Estepa was appointed judicial and insolvency administrator, and requested voluntary insolvency and the immediate sale of the productive unit just days later. The complainants described this speed as "incredible" and "opaque."
In a document submitted to Instruction number two, and assisted by lawyer José Antonio Rodríguez Alaminos, León states that the entity Grucal Properties SL, sole shareholder of Aglomerados Córdoba (the club's acquirer), has lost 97% of its capital. This damage, according to the document, "also affects the company and the entire business group."
The judicial investigation focuses on an alleged criminal scheme to "strip" Córdoba CF SAD of its content and value for the benefit of a new company, reportedly transferring assets to funds from Bahrain to the detriment of legitimate creditors.
The original complaint also names insolvency administrator Francisco Estepa, former CEO Javier González Calvo, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, and former RFEF president, Luis Rubiales, for alleged crimes of disloyal administration, bribery, and influence peddling. The investor group Infinity, including members of the Bahraini royal family Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, current club president Abdulla Al Zain, vice-president Mohamed Al Nusuf, and board member Alsharif Faisal bin Jamil, are also included.
The ratification of the complaint before the judge is scheduled for October 1st. The judicial order already indicated the "possible existence of a criminal offense" in the events.
