Indra's industrial facility in the Las Quemadas Industrial Park, in Córdoba, has completed the manufacturing of the initial units of the Nemus radar. This system, considered Europe's most advanced in its class for neutralizing drones and projectiles, has now reached its full production capacity at the recently inaugurated Córdoba plant.
The first units produced are not for a single contract but will be allocated to various ongoing programs. These include an agreement with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of anti-drone systems and another focused on the active protection of military vehicles, highlighting the Nemus radar's adaptability to different Armed Forces missions.
This milestone represents a significant advancement for the Nemus program and consolidates the importance of the Córdoba plant. The company emphasizes that this achievement is the result of the "joint effort of Indra Group's engineering, production, quality, logistics, and purchasing departments," implementing a "new serial manufacturing model based on semi-automatic lines and highly standardized processes, with complete traceability and parameter recording."
The Nemus radar utilizes active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology, is small in size and light in weight, and is designed for installation on mechanized vehicles and tanks. Its primary function is to detect, identify, and track drones and projectiles, automatically activating countermeasures to neutralize them before they reach their target. It incorporates artificial intelligence to distinguish false targets and resist electronic interference, operating effectively in extreme weather conditions.
The Las Quemadas plant, spanning 13,000 square meters, began production in early 2026 and plans to increase its capacity. It will also concentrate the manufacturing of S3T space surveillance radars and MTR multi-role tactical radars. In its initial phase, it will generate over 150 direct jobs, with the potential to expand to 350 workers. Indra will invest 56 million euros in Córdoba across two work centers, one at Las Quemadas and another yet to be defined, which will house the manufacturing of advanced metal structures.
The choice of Córdoba aligns with Indra's strategy to strengthen its presence in the ground platforms segment, leveraging the future Army Logistics Base. The multinational has reinforced its presence in the province by taking control of Tess Defence and forming strategic alliances.
Indra's roadmap in Andalusia aims to double its activity in the region over the next two years, with an investment of 80 million euros and the creation of over 500 new jobs. The growth strategy extends across all eight Andalusian provinces, with a presence in seven work centers and three centers of excellence.
