The 45th Córdoba Guitar Festival, organized by the Municipal Institute of Performing Arts of Córdoba (IMAE), extends its stages beyond the city's theaters with two free preview activities open to the public at the Hotel Hesperia Córdoba. This initiative aims to turn the entire city into a stage and connect the guitar with diverse audiences.
The first event, scheduled for Friday, June 12th at 7:00 PM in the hotel's River Lounge Bar, will be an open masterclass titled 'What if your guitar could generate complete harmonic ideas?'. Led by musician Pablo Salinas, who teaches a course on 'Guitars, Robots, and Artificial Intelligence' at the Rafael Orozco Higher Conservatory of Music, the session will explore AI's role as a co-composer, capable of generating accompaniments and developing musical ideas. It will include a live demonstration with a robot.
Pablo Salinas, in addition to being an educator, is one of the performers in the premiere of the electronic opera 'Ciclos 5.0. El Periplo de las Heroínas' by Teddy Bautista, which will be presented on July 3rd at the Gran Teatro.
The second event will take place on June 17th at 9:30 PM on the panoramic terrace of the Hesperia Córdoba. The flamenco guitar concert will feature Rafa Porti, guitarist for Cosita Wena and a solo composer with a contemporary vision of flamenco, and Alfonso Linares, a professor at the Córdoba Higher Conservatory of Music, composer, and solo guitarist. Both will offer performances blending technique, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the instrument, with the Mezquita-Catedral and the Guadalquivir River as a backdrop. Admission is free until full capacity.
The 45th Córdoba Guitar Festival, running from July 1st to 11th in various city venues, has established itself as a European benchmark for its anthological and monographic approach to the guitar across all genres. In addition to concerts, the festival includes an educational program with courses and masterclasses taught by the artists themselves.
