Hotel Occupancy in Córdoba Reaches Historic Figures in March

The province's tourism sector records one of its best Marches, boosted by the celebration of Easter Holy Week.

Hotel activity in the province of Córdoba during March 2026 has exceeded expectations, ranking among the best historical records, according to provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Hotel establishments in Córdoba welcomed a total of 102,785 travelers, representing an increase of nearly 3% compared to the 99,949 recorded in March 2025. This figure not only improves on last year's data but also approaches the historical highs of 2019 (106,380 travelers) and 2024 (106,588), previously considered some of the best Marches for the Cordovan tourism sector.
In terms of overnight stays, the performance was even more remarkable. Hotels in Córdoba accumulated 176,831 stays, a 2.2% increase from March 2025 (173,070). This figure is practically in line with pre-pandemic levels, such as those recorded in 2019 (176,029), being surpassed only by March 2016 and 2024.
Growth was observed in both the domestic and international markets. Travelers residing in Spain reached 61,278, compared to 59,604 the previous year, indicating a positive evolution of domestic tourism. Foreign visitors also increased, reaching 41,507, up from 40,345 recorded in March 2025.

One of the key factors explaining these results has been the celebration of Holy Week in March, an element that traditionally has a strong impact on the city's tourism demand.

These results are particularly significant when compared to the sector's initial forecasts. The hotel association had anticipated more moderate performance for March, conditioned by meteorological uncertainty and railway transport issues. However, the final evolution has disproven these expectations, showing a more robust demand than predicted.
