The nature of these duties performed by Guardia Civil personnel frequently exposes them to situations where the ability to provide adequate initial assistance can be decisive in saving lives, reducing the impact of injuries, or mitigating risks until the arrival of specialized medical services.

The Guardia Civil of Córdoba has concluded the first edition of the First Aid Micro-credential, a crucial training initiative developed in collaboration with the University of Córdoba to equip its officers for emergency response.
The General Hall 'Miguel Sánchez' at the Guardia Civil Command in Córdoba hosted the presentation of this micro-credential, specifically designed for civil guards in the province. The training, organized by the University of Córdoba through the Coremsa Chair and supported by the 'Guzmán el Bueno X' Brigade, aims to provide officers with essential first aid skills.
This program addresses a training demand expressed by the Guardia Civil Command of Córdoba itself, recognizing the need for its personnel to be prepared for emergency situations. Guardia Civil officers in Córdoba cover over 95% of the provincial territory and serve more than 51% of its population, being responsible for 74 out of 77 municipalities, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The constant presence of the Guardia Civil in the province often makes them the first responders to catastrophes, fires, accidents, assaults, or rescues. Having basic first aid knowledge allows them to act quickly and effectively, significantly increasing survival chances and improving victims' prognoses.
The implementation of this activity falls within the regulatory-administrative framework of the Coremsa-UCO Chair agreement, signed by both entities. Practical training took place both at the University of Córdoba facilities and at the Guardia Civil Command in Córdoba. The closing ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the General of the BRIX, the Director General of Continuing Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship of the UCO, the Colonel Chief of the Command, as well as the President and Director of the Coremsa business group and several professors.
