The Gala Foundation celebrates the sixth edition of its chamber music series, Gala Fest, established as an essential event in Cordoba. The festival will feature renowned performers such as Conrado Moya, L'Apothéose Ensemble, Mikhail Milman, and the Sevilla Guitar Duo.
Under the artistic direction of Alejandro Muñoz, and with the Camerata Gala – Fundación Antonio Gala as the resident orchestra, the festival will take place in the institution's emblematic cloister. A notable new feature is the composer Benet Casablancas, who will serve as honorary president for this edition.
The festival will commence on Tuesday, June 10, with the concert 'Falla 150 anniversary', performed by the Sevilla Guitar Duo, comprising Francisco Bernier and Antonio Duro. All concerts will be held in the cloister of the Gala Foundation at 8:30 PM.
On June 11, cellist Mikhail Milman, accompanied by pianist Larisa Tedtoeva, will present the program 'Two Voices of the 20th Century', featuring works by Prokofiev and Shostakovich.
The following day, June 12, L'Apothéose Ensemble, a highly regarded European early music group, will perform a repertoire focused on Telemann's Paris Quartets.
On June 13, emerging tenor Marcelo Solís, alongside acclaimed pianist José Ángel Onieva, will present the program 'From Opera to Zarzuela'.
The closing event on June 14 will feature percussionist Conrado Moya, one of today's most sought-after marimba soloists, performing the concerto for marimba and strings by Emmanuel Séjourné, conducted by Alejandro Muñoz. The program will also include Grieg's 'Holberg Suite' and the premiere of two works by composers-in-residence Rafael de Rioja and Nani R. Pavón.
The Foundation highlights that Gala Fest has become a benchmark due to the quality of its performers, the diversity of its programming, and the exceptional acoustics of the cloister's historic-architectural setting, making it an essential meeting point for audiences.
