The ninth edition of the International Festival of Flowers (Flora), scheduled to take place in Córdoba from October 12 to 22, 2026, has announced its first two creators: the studio Flover and Taller Banegas. Both artists will visit the city this week to familiarize themselves with the patios where they will display their works.
Flover, a New York-based studio, is renowned for its bold and sculptural floral arrangements, incorporating unexpected elements such as metallic structures and industrial textures. Their installation will be located in the Baroque patio of the Palacio de la Merced, sponsored by the Delegación de Cultura of the Diputación de Córdoba. They have collaborated with figures like Lady Gaga and internationally recognized brands.
Meanwhile, Taller Banegas, founded by artist Alejandro Fernández Banegas, is characterized by a clean and sophisticated floral language. His work will be exhibited in the second patio of the Museo Arqueológico de Córdoba, sponsored by the Consejería de Cultura y Deporte of the Junta de Andalucía. Fernández Banegas, originally from Ciudad Real, has previously participated in the festival as an artistic assistant and is an emerging figure in the national scene.
The festival will award two cash prizes, a first prize of 25,000 euros and a second prize of 10,000 euros, making them the highest of their kind worldwide.
These two creators will join three other artists who will travel to Córdoba in October to compete for the festival's prestigious awards. The names of the remaining participants for this edition will be announced in the coming weeks.
