The automotive market in Cordoba has shown resilience in the first half of 2026, closing the semester with a 1.3% increase in new vehicle registrations. A total of 20,040 units were recorded between January and June, consolidating a long-term growth trend that places the figure 7.7% higher than in the first half of 2024.
However, the month of June marked a slowdown, with 3,165 registrations, a 2.1% decrease compared to the same month in 2025. Despite this specific drop, the figure is 5.1% higher than in June 2024. This performance contrasts with the national market, which grew by 6.3% in June, largely driven by the Community of Madrid.
Nationally, the semi-annual growth was 1.9%, a more moderate figure than Cordoba's, which runs parallel to the Spanish average.
Passenger cars continue to lead the provincial market, with 17,300 units registered in the semester (+1.6%). Although June passenger car registrations fell by 2.3% year-on-year, they were 5.5% higher than two years ago. Cordoba accounts for 1.47% of the national passenger car market.
On the other hand, commercial vehicles saw a 0.9% decrease in June and a 0.2% decrease in the semi-annual total, with 2,740 units registered between January and June, reflecting the pulse of local logistics and economic activity.
Within the Andalusian context, Cordoba is positioned in the lower-middle tier, surpassing only Jaén and Huelva in sales volume. Málaga and Seville lead the regional market. The year-on-year evolution in June shows a downward trend shared with other southern and eastern provinces, while Málaga and Seville recorded increases.
