The white-and-green squad, which has shown considerable inconsistency throughout the season, is now experiencing its sweetest moment, rekindling hopes of reaching the play-off positions. This series of positive results could mark a turning point in the coach's tenure.
The latest victory, a narrow 1-0 win against Granada at El Arcángel, allowed the team to accumulate 18 consecutive points. This achievement equals the best winning streak in the top two categories of Spanish football, a milestone previously recorded only in the 1959-1960 season.
“"The team has shown an ability to alternate between highs and lows, but is now experiencing its sweetest moment of the season."
In that historic campaign, Córdoba defeated teams such as CA Almería, Rayo Vallecano, Cádiz, Valencia Mestalla, Badajoz, and Jaén. While not the longest streak in the club's history (the record this century is held by a previous coach with nine wins in Segunda Federación), it does represent a personal best for the current coach during his time with the team.
Nationally, only FC Barcelona and Real Madrid currently surpass Córdoba's winning streak in Spanish professional football. If the team manages to win its remaining three matches, it could achieve the second-best form in the national football elite.
This coming Friday, Córdoba will have the opportunity to set a new standalone record if they can defeat Albacete at El Arcángel. To do so, they will need to overcome a psychological barrier, as they have not managed to string together two consecutive home wins in Segunda División since the 2012-2013 season.
