Following months of written complaints and protests, the local government has committed to executing a comprehensive shock plan. This plan ranges from the renovation of public lighting to the cleaning of vacant lots and common areas, as well as tree pruning.
One of the main concerns for residents, particularly in Sector 3, was the inadequate lighting. The lighting system, over 40 years old, had created a situation of darkness that, according to those affected, not only hindered pedestrian traffic but also contributed to an increase in vandalism.
Among the incidents reported by the community are home burglaries, container burning, and thefts from inside vehicles, situations that are expected to be mitigated by the improvements promised by the city council.
