The Córdoba club has confirmed the appointment of Diego Tristán as the new coach of Córdoba CF B, succeeding Gaspar Gálvez. The club communicated this decision in a brief statement, highlighting the incorporation of a "historic figure in Spanish football" to lead the team in the final stretch of the campaign.
Tristán, originally from Seville, joined the youth academy last October, initially serving as a specific forwards coach. A month later, in November, he also took over the management of the Cadete B team, combining both responsibilities within the club's formative structure until now.
His arrival at the academy was part of the club's strategy to foster young talent and the comprehensive development of footballers, with the vision that they would not only represent the present but also assume leading roles in the future. In this context, Tristán fit a work model focused on consolidating a solid base of promising players capable of progressing through the different ranks of Córdoba CF.
Now, given the unfavorable results of the reserve team, Tristán steps up in the club's hierarchy. His extensive experience as an elite player, having played for teams such as Betis, Mallorca, Deportivo de La Coruña, Livorno, West Ham, and Cádiz, in addition to having played 15 matches for the Spanish national team, will be crucial in contributing his knowledge and leadership in this new phase.
