A patrol of the Civil Guard has arrested an individual in Encinarejo, Córdoba, for an alleged crime against public health. The individual was transporting 560 grams of marijuana ready for distribution and sale, hidden in vacuum-sealed bags under the rear seats of his car.
The operation took place on the CH-2 road when officers observed a vehicle making suspicious maneuvers upon noticing the police presence. Upon approaching, officers detected a strong smell of marijuana and noted evident nervousness from the driver.
Following an inspection of the car, and despite the occupant voluntarily handing over a small amount of the substance, the guards continued their search, locating the bags with the hidden drugs. The driver was subsequently arrested.
The operation is part of the preventive measures that the Civil Guard carries out to prevent drug trafficking and consumption in leisure areas, communication routes, and urban centers.
Both the detainee, the proceedings, and the seized substance have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority. The Civil Guard reminds the public that emergency calls can be made to 062, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
