Cunext Group is set to inaugurate its new green copper factory in Córdoba this June, a strategic project involving an investment of over 250 million euros and the creation of more than 150 direct jobs.
This industrial initiative aims to establish Córdoba as a European benchmark in sustainability, innovation, and decarbonization. The plant, located near the N-432 highway, is expected to reach full operational capacity by early 2027, producing up to 130,000 tons of high-purity copper cathodes annually through an electrolysis process using recycled materials.
The total project investment exceeds 250 million euros, with over 150 million allocated to the new plant, which will generate more than 80 direct jobs. Approximately 80% of these positions have already been filled, and the company is actively seeking technical profiles in engineering and mechanical and electrical vocational training, prioritizing local talent.
The facility will significantly contribute to reducing the carbon footprint by avoiding the extraction of up to 130,000 tons of primary copper and decreasing CO₂ emissions by over one million tons. This circular economy model, combined with energy self-consumption through photovoltaic panels and zero-emission transport, positions the factory as a global leader in low-carbon copper production.
