The city of Cordoba, renowned for its rich archaeological heritage, faces a paradox: while new historical remains are being uncovered, one of Hispania's largest Roman amphitheaters remains neglected. This site, located behind the Veterinary building in Ciudad Jardín, was discovered more than twenty years ago, and since then, it has not received the necessary attention for its preservation and exhibition.

The situation has drawn criticism, particularly from public figures who lament the inaction regarding such a significant collection of vestiges. Despite complaints and the site's evident importance, which could be compared to the Colosseum, Carthage, or Italica, the urbanization project for the area by the University of Cordoba has not progressed towards its valorization.

It has been noted that the University of Cordoba has an approved urbanization project and has signed agreements granting it the authority to invest funds in activating this unique enclave. However, the lack of progress is evident, suggesting a prioritization of other fields of knowledge over archaeology and historical heritage.
