The devastating forest fire in Los Gallardos, Almería, which has claimed the lives of at least 11 people, has generated a wave of shock and solidarity throughout Andalucía and Spain. In response to this tragedy, various institutions, sports clubs, and non-governmental organizations from Córdoba have expressed their condolences and initiated actions to collaborate with those affected.
The Junta de Andalucía, through its government delegate in Córdoba, has suspended scheduled events for at least Friday, July 10. Similarly, the Córdoba City Council and the Provincial Council of Córdoba have publicly expressed their sorrow. The Provincial Council, led by its president Salvador Fuentes, called for a minute of silence at 12:00 PM in front of the Palacio de la Merced in memory of the victims.

The world of Córdoban sports has also joined the expressions of support. Córdoba CF used its social media profiles to convey its condolences, a gesture also repeated by the basketball club Coto Córdoba, which competes in the Primera Federación.

Non-governmental organizations and other private entities in Córdoba are already working to prepare necessary aid for Almería as a consequence of the fire. The public universities of Andalucía, including the University of Córdoba, issued a statement expressing their sadness over the events and extending their condolences to the victims' families.
In their message, the universities also thanked the work of the emergency services and all those involved in extinguishing the fire and assisting the victims, joining the grief of the University of Almería and the Almerian society, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
