The drug market in Cordoba has established itself in recent years as a strategic point for drug trafficking networks, attracted by the province's good transport links and logistics. During 2025, State Security Forces seized over 5,000 kilos of major substances, in operations that resulted in 267 arrests. These figures represent a notable increase compared to the previous year, following the filing of over 6,300 complaints.
According to the 2025 Annual Report on Drugs from the Center for Intelligence against Terrorism and Organized Crime (Citco), hashish seizures exceeded 4,425 kilos, a 1,650% increase from the previous year. Marijuana reached 651 kilos (+13%), cocaine dropped to 13.6 kilos (-98%), and heroin amounted to 411 grams (+76%).
The report highlights the seizure of 12.5 units of 'speed-ball' (a mix of heroin and cocaine) in the province, accounting for almost 31% of the national total. Additionally, 4,372 cannabis plants and 6,000 cubic centimeters of nitrous oxide, an emerging substance in the clandestine market, were confiscated, along with others like tusi, ketamine, and opioids.
Other relevant substances in Cordoba include anabolic steroids (271 units, +27,000%), crystal meth (227 grams, +378%), and cannabis pollen. Ecstasy, MDA, amphetamine, methamphetamine, crack, cocaine base paste, and drugs such as clonazepam, alprazolam, and lorazepam maintain their presence in the market.
The joint efforts of the National Police, Civil Guard, Regional, and Local Police led to 267 arrests in 2025, a 17% increase from the previous year, representing 5% of those arrested in Andalusia. Filed complaints grew by 7.7% to 6,351.
Nationally, Citco recorded 370 tons of cocaine, hashish, marijuana, and heroin seized. Hashish leads the ranking with 257 tons, a 29% increase compared to 2024, though it remains at the lower end of the historical series. The Ministry of the Interior emphasizes the effectiveness of police measures against large-scale drug trafficking networks.
