The Provincial Council of Córdoba, through its Sports Delegation, has approved a total of €475,000 in subsidies distributed through competitive bidding among 285 sports entities in the province for the execution of sports activities and the promotion of adapted sports during the year 2026.
The provincial institution's Sports delegate, Antonio Martín, stated that the objectives of this call are “on the one hand, to finance projects in sports matters, and on the other hand, to support sports entities that promote adapted sports”.
The call is structured into three lines of aid: line A to economically support Sports Clubs and Sports Sections (except those in the capital city of Córdoba); line B, for Andalusian Sports Federations for the development of promotional activities of their sports modality that directly benefit the province of Córdoba; and line C for aid to sports entities that promote Adapted Sports.
Lines A and B, with a budget of €450,000, have benefited 273 sports entities from 70 municipalities and Autonomous Local Entities (ELAs) in the province. Subsidized activities include participation in official competitions at provincial, Andalusian, national, and international levels in various sports modalities; organization and participation in competitions, tournaments, and contests; training activities, exhibitions, and clinics; organization of hiking and cycling routes, and development of sports schools.
Line C, with a budget of €25,000, has benefited 12 entities promoting physical activity for people with functional diversity. Developed sports modalities include orientation, swimming, athletics, football, basketball, table tennis, paddle tennis, and powerchair football, with grants for competitions exclusively for athletes with disabilities and activities to improve physical and technical performance.
Antonio Martín concluded by noting that 10 sports federations have been supported for their own activities, including karate, motorsport, mountaineering, petanque, chess, taekwondo, golf, basketball, swimming, and sports for intellectually disabled individuals.
