The artistic team of the electronic opera Ciclos 5.0. El Periplo de las Heroínas is gathering this Friday, April 24, at the Sala Polifemo of the Teatro Góngora for the first in-person dancer auditions. This show is set to premiere on July 3 at the Gran Teatro, as part of the 45th Guitar Festival program, organized by the Municipal Institute of Scenic Arts of Córdoba (IMAE), running from July 1 to 11.
The audition, managed by La Factoría del Musical Cordobés, is not conceived as a conventional examination but as a real working session. Pre-selected candidates will share the space with the artistic team in an open professional rehearsal format. Professionals such as Macarena Gómez in interpretation, Pablo Salinas in musical direction, and Alex Trickoso exploring acrobatic potential will participate in this session.
Dancers will begin with an autonomous warm-up, followed by an individual choreography of approximately two minutes, preferably with demi-pointe shoes or jazz sneakers. Subsequently, they will work in groups with musical style sequences and neoclassical variations. The artistic team will also explore the vocal and even acrobatic potential of the performers. They are looking for between seven and nine dancers with musicality, versatility, and advanced technical level, over 16 years old and with no maximum age limit.
“"An electronic opera, an unprecedented genre that, following the operatic tradition, relies on the album's libretto to construct a scenic narrative."
Ciclos 5.0. El Periplo de las Heroínas is a musical spectacle based on the latest album by Teddy Bautista. Director and choreographer Nuria García conceived this original scenic proposal, gaining the support of Bautista, who has joined the project. The work traces the journey of women from East to West, in dialogue with the imaginary of Marco Polo, and each number also functions as an electronic poem. The piece will be performed exclusively by women, with guest musicians and performers including Teddy Bautista himself, acrobat Alex Trickoso, Pablo Salinas, and singer Pedro Ruy Blas.
This project is the first production of La Factoría del Musical Cordobés, an initiative that seeks to decentralize musical training and production, consolidating Córdoba as a center for artistic creation. It has the institutional support of the Imdeec and the delegate for Culture, and already has a second family-oriented production underway for the Christmas season. The simultaneous presence of Teddy Bautista and Pablo Salinas at the 45th Guitar Festival reinforces this commitment, as both artists will participate in the informative meeting La Guitarra Cuenta and Salinas will teach a workshop on artificial intelligence applied to musical composition.
