Heat and yellow alerts from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) marked the recent edition of the Cordoba Fair. In response, the City Council has highlighted the importance of the awning areas installed at the fairgrounds, which have been well-received by citizens, according to a municipal survey.

Survey results, provided by mayor José María Bellido, indicate that 73.5% of respondents are "satisfied or very satisfied" with the awning installation. This contrasts with the 40% who cited lack of shade as the main drawback last year, a figure that has now dropped to 15.3%.

Citizen demand for the continuation and increase of these shade structures in future editions is notable, with 13.4% of users requesting their expansion. The mayor has acknowledged these requests, though he recognizes that the expansion presents challenges that will require analysis in the coming months.

One of the main challenges for the City Council is the coexistence of artificial shade with the existing, growing tree cover in El Arenal. The mayor clarified that the current awning model may interfere with tree canopies, reiterating that natural shade remains the priority.

Therefore, the expansion study will focus on identifying "gaps" not covered by vegetation. The entrances to the fairgrounds are emerging as areas with the greatest potential for incorporating these improvements. The commitment is to initiate a feasibility study to determine the viability of increasing awning coverage for next May.

Beyond climate control, the fair as a whole received an average score of 8.25 points. Associated public services were also highly rated: security achieved 87.7% approval, and cleaning and maintenance tasks garnered 83% satisfaction. Aucorsa, the public transport service, received 57% positive ratings.
