The project, with a three-month execution period, aims to ensure the operational safety of the current waste disposal area's access and lay the groundwork for the landfill's next expansion. It includes constructing new surface drainage infrastructure to manage runoff water and prevent deterioration of both the future disposal site and the access road.
This technical intervention is part of Sadeco's long-term planning to manage the constant growth of urban waste and the progressive exhaustion of the complex's capacity. Phase 7 will allow continued operation as the current capacity nears its limit, making it essential to condition the land and address surface water evacuation and access protection.

These works are part of Sadeco's strategy to extend the facilities' lifespan through phased growth. Phase 6, designed as the last expansion of the current operational cell, already secured capacity for several more years.
This landfill expansion project runs parallel to Sadeco 5.0, the initiative modernizing the Juan Revilla Environmental Complex with new waste treatment and recovery plants. The goal is to increase recycling and waste valorization, reducing buried material, although the need for disposal infrastructure remains. Sadeco maintains complementary investments in modernization and future-proofing its facilities.
