The spokesperson for the PP municipal government in the Córdoba City Council and president of the Municipal Urban Planning Agency (GMU), Miguel Ángel Torrico, addressed the offer made to the owner of the Delicias, Fuenseca, and Olimpia summer cinemas, Antonio Amil. The council proposed purchasing these venues for 300,000 euros, a figure the owner rejected, deeming it insufficient after making higher investments.
Torrico stated that the council respects the owner's position but emphasized that “we are not going to enter into an auction to recover these lands for the neighborhoods.” Should the owner find the offer acceptable, the council would be pleased; otherwise, they will examine the intended uses by a new owner, as indicated by Amil. The primary municipal concern will be to ensure these uses align with the urban planning regulations for the land.
The municipal spokesperson also noted that the 300,000 euro offer was made through private channels, as pre-emption and redemption rights did not apply. Regarding municipal aid for the summer cinemas to open, Torrico mentioned that the modification of the aid bases is currently being processed and is expected to be approved “soon.”
In other news, the municipal government reported on two city works. The repair of sidewalks and expansion of tree pits on Avenida de El Brillante has been awarded. This project, costing 160,930 euros, will be executed by Urbana Andrecor within four months.
Furthermore, the Local Government Board authorized a one-month extension for the works in La Viñuela, now scheduled for completion on July 31st, due to issues with the correct processing of invoices. Lastly, an agreement was approved with the National Archaeological Museum for the loan of 33 pieces to be exhibited in the Córdoba Romana: The Hidden City exhibition at the Vimcorsa hall from November 2026 to February 2027.
