From the opening whistle, Córdoba CF demonstrated a clear intent to win the match, creating numerous scoring opportunities that, however, did not materialize on the scoreboard during the first half. Players like Carracedo and Ignasi Vilarrasa came close to opening the scoring, with shots hitting the crossbar and post, respectively.
Granada CF, for its part, remained more conservative, with a single offensive reference that barely troubled the home goal. The Córdoba defense, with Rubén Alves alert, managed to contain the few approaches from the visiting team.
The second half brought a change in the game's dynamic. Granada CF became more active, while Córdoba CF lost some of its initial intensity. Injuries to Alberto del Moral and Adrián Fuentes forced substitutions, affecting the home team's rhythm.
“"If Córdoba has one thing, it's heart, and even with one player less, they managed to get an extra life."
Despite playing with one less man after Percan's expulsion in the 79th minute, Córdoba CF did not give up. In the final minutes, Jacobo González unleashed euphoria at El Arcángel with a goal that secured the victory and kept the team's hopes alive in the competition.
