Córdoba CF faces a crucial stretch of the season with significant setbacks in its squad. The injuries to Isma Ruiz and Alberto del Moral have depleted the team's midfield, forcing the coaching staff to seek alternatives among players with less prominence to date. This situation could mark a turning point for a midfielder who, despite an initial impact, had seen his participation reduced.
After his arrival in the winter transfer market last season, the Balearic player performed remarkably, playing 18 matches and scoring four goals. However, in the current campaign, he has not managed to establish himself as a differential player, despite starting in five of the first seven games. A lack of consistency and on-field arguments relegated him to the bench from the ninth matchday onwards, accumulating minimal minutes in subsequent fixtures.
An opportunity for redemption arose on matchday 16, when the coach opted for him to replace another teammate in midfield. Although the team lost and the player did not play a decisive role, he started again in the next match. Nevertheless, this circumstance did not allow him to solidify his place in the rotation, resulting in minimal participation in the final commitments of the year.
The second half of the season has been equally discreet for the midfielder, who, despite starting the year in several matches due to another injury to Isma Ruiz, returned to a secondary role after his teammate's recovery. Currently, he has gone seven consecutive matches without playing a single minute, marking his lowest point of involvement this season.
However, the potential absence of Isma Ruiz in the upcoming match against Albacete, coupled with Alberto del Moral's injury, could lead the coach to opt for a more collective midfield, featuring three creative midfielders also focused on defensive duties. This scenario could be decisive for the Balearic player's future at Córdoba CF, as his contract with the club expires on June 30.
