The Ser Quien Soy gala, held at the Palacio de la Merced, headquarters of the Diputación de Córdoba, was the central event of the program organized by the provincial institution for June 28, International LGTBI Pride Day. The delegation for Equality, Development Cooperation, Consumption, and Citizen Participation spearheaded this initiative.
The president of the Diputación de Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, highlighted that the gala represents "the best of Córdoba, a diverse, open land, committed to equality and convinced that human dignity must always be above any difference." He emphasized that they recognize "careers, projects, and initiatives that contribute to building a more just and free society."
“"Visibility, still necessary today, is achieved through support measures for LGTBI individuals in all their diversity, listening to their demands, and walking hand in hand with them."
Fuentes recalled that the Ser Quien Soy awards were created to "make visible role models, people, and entities that, from very diverse fields, contribute to building a province where one can live with freedom, dignity, and pride." He added that the goal is to "guarantee opportunities, break down barriers, and build a province where all individuals can develop their life and future projects."
For her part, the delegate for Equality, Auxiliadora Moreno, stressed the "special significance" of the gala as a "tribute to the people and groups who dedicate their time and effort to guaranteeing rights and improving lives." The provincial institution reaffirmed its "commitment to continue promoting respect, inclusion, and equity."
In this edition, María de los Ángeles Mellado Miranda, manager of Fundecor, was honored as Ser Quien Soy Example for her commitment to equality and diversity. In the economic sphere, the recognition went to Francisco Cosano Maldonado, from Bissé Asesores, for his specialized LGTBI advisory services.
The award in the educational field went to Ana Requena Muñoz, a writer and teacher, for "transforming culture into a space of coexistence, freedom, and social transformation." The association Pridelia Deporte Cultura received an award in the sports sector for its work in promoting diversity through sports.
In art and culture, the artistic career of José Rojas Savariego, linked to textile design and flamenco fashion, was recognized.
