The proposal from the Brotherhood of La Soledad aimed to extend the official route to 1.2 kilometers, starting the procession at the intersection of Diario Córdoba street and Claudio Marcelo street, near the City Hall. The objective, according to the written proposal sent to the group, was to optimize transit flows, ensure public safety, and enhance the liturgical and heritage value of the celebration, addressing structural limitations of the current model in place since 2017.
The projected route outlined a continuous axis connecting the city center with the historic quarter and the Holy Church Cathedral. It proposed starting at the intersection of Calle Diario de Córdoba and Calle Claudio Marcelo, using San Fernando street as a connecting axis, passing through the Cruz del Rastro, and accessing the monumental area via Cardenal González street and Magistral González Francés street. Entry to the Mezquita Cathedral would be through the Puerta de Santa Catalina towards the Patio de los Naranjos.
The Puerta de Las Palmas, the interior of the cathedral, and the Puerta de las Cofradías were designated as the "liturgical axis." The exit would involve returning to the Patio de los Naranjos to evacuate through the Puerta del Perdón.
The brotherhood argued that this modification would bring benefits such as revitalizing the city's urban center, uniting the downtown area with the heritage zone, improving public visibility of the confraternities by avoiding critical congestion points, and enhancing the design of the Confraternities Group's evacuation routes.
