The Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment of Córdoba (Imdeec), along with the Territorial Delegation of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Junta de Andalucía and representatives from the Army, held a strategic coordination meeting with directors of Secondary Education and Vocational Training centers in the province. The primary objective was to coordinate the dissemination of the latest Public Employment Offer from the Ministry of Defense, which includes key profiles for the BLET's personnel needs.
Out of the total 330 positions in this call, a significant portion is allocated to specific roles for the Córdoba Logistics Base, marking a key milestone for local employment. The selection process is expected to commence this autumn. Technical analyses indicate that the province's institutes and Vocational Training centers cover 98% of the required specialties and professional profiles.
The president of Imdeec, Blanca Torrent, highlighted the municipal body's firm commitment to ensuring this opportunity translates into local employment, emphasizing the institutions' goal of preventing job vacancies due to a lack of qualified personnel. She stressed the municipal institute's role as a bridge connecting major infrastructures with SMEs and professionals from Córdoba.
This high compatibility places students from Córdoba and its province in an excellent position to access these stable, highly skilled technical positions. Consequently, the involved administrations have directly called upon educational centers to act as disseminators of this employment opportunity.
The territorial delegate for Education of the Junta, Diego Copé, emphasized that "meetings like this are fundamental to strengthening coordination between administrations and educational centers to enhance employment opportunities." He noted the Junta's firm commitment to Vocational Training oriented towards the BLET, citing the authorization of higher vocational degrees in Automotive and Electrotechnical and Automated Systems at institutes in Montilla and Montoro for the upcoming academic year.
Beyond dissemination, attendees agreed that the real challenge lies in candidates successfully completing all phases of the selection process. The critical need for guidance and mentorship from institute faculty was highlighted to assist graduates and students with registration and exam preparation, ensuring continuous support to prevent early dropout and guarantee that Cordoban talent is not overlooked due to administrative hurdles or lack of technical support.
Applications can be submitted through the defense portal. The Subdelegation of Defense in Córdoba, located at Plaza Ramón y Cajal, offers an information point where prior appointments are not necessary for assistance.
