Approximately 100 people have been voluntarily evacuated from the Villa San Jorge and Mirador de Media Andalucía urbanizations in Cerro Muriano, Córdoba, due to a forest fire advancing towards inhabited areas.

The Minister of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Sanz, reported on the progress of the forest fire declared in the Cerro Muriano area, Córdoba. The situation required a "preventive withdrawal" of about 100 residents from the Villa San Jorge and Mirador de Media Andalucía urbanizations.
Sanz clarified that this measure is not an emergency evacuation but a "withdrawal" carried out in advance of the flames' advance. The Emergencies 112 service referred to it as a "preventive evacuation." The Villa San Jorge urbanization has remained unaffected thanks to the efforts of firefighters from the Provincial Council and the Córdoba City Council.
The fire originated from a truck carrying straw that caught fire on the N-432 road. After initial containment, the fire spread to the A-432 road and advanced rapidly, necessitating the swift deployment of all available resources. The Infoca device has deployed 145 personnel and 21 aerial means.
The minister described the afternoon as "complicated" due to constant winds threatening the area. Currently, the wind is blowing from the west, moving the fire front away from the population and towards a dehesa (oak pasture) zone. The priority is focused on the left flank of the fire, the closest part to the population.
Despite the "maximum vigilance," Sanz conveyed optimism, stating that the highest risk phase has been overcome.
