The Union Platform of the Provincial Consortium for Prevention and Extinction of Fires (CPPEI) of Córdoba, comprising CCOO, SAB, UGT, SINTEF, and SIBCC, has positively assessed the reinforcement implemented by the Provincial Council of Córdoba for the summer fire campaign. The unions have expressed their satisfaction with the incorporation of 17 new firefighters, the acquisition of three new water tender trucks, and investments in infrastructure and equipment.
They consider these actions a significant step forward in improving the operational capacity of the province's fire stations, enhancing professional safety, and providing a more effective response to citizens facing increasingly complex emergencies. The union platform highlighted that many of these long-standing demands have been actively advocated through meetings and negotiations with the Consortium's political and technical leaders.
Furthermore, they have thanked the efforts of the president of the Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentes, and the Consortium's president, Antonio Martín, for the announced investment for 2026, which exceeds eight million euros allocated to vehicles, works, supplies, and new hires. According to the unions, these investments demonstrate the fulfillment of the commitment made at the beginning of the legislative term.
Looking ahead, the Union Platform reiterates its willingness for dialogue and joint work with all involved administrations to continue building a modern, professional, safe public fire service that meets the needs of the municipalities in the province of Córdoba.
