The meeting, which brought together students and professors from the "Anthropology in action" group, aimed to exchange experiences and knowledge about the challenges and opportunities presented by Córdoba's heritage. During the sessions, the city's diverse cultural, gastronomic, intangible, and artistic aspects were addressed, linking them with educational, tourism, and social issues.
In addition to academic analysis, participants enjoyed Córdoba's festive atmosphere, exploring its most emblematic monuments such as Medina Azahara and the Mezquita-Catedral through guided tours. They also had the opportunity to visit the Caballerizas Reales, participate in the Santo Domingo pilgrimage, and discover the secrets of the traditional Cordoban «perol».
“"The anthropological commitment to analysis did not prevent them from enjoying the festive atmosphere that reigns in Córdoba."
The event, which ran from Friday to Sunday, featured interventions from various professors. The group also toured the Historic Quarter, declared a World Heritage Site since 1994, and explored the natural and historical values of the nearby Sierra de Córdoba, coinciding their work with the Santo Domingo pilgrimage, which they joined to experience the festivities firsthand.
On the last day of the gathering, traditional Cordoban gastronomy took center stage, both at the pilgrimage and at the campsite. A member of the campsite restaurant team shared the secrets of the typical «perol cordobés», a dish that symbolizes outdoor gatherings and surprised participants not only with its flavor but also with its deep cultural, historical, and social significance.
