The events began when the accused traveled to a street in Cordoba with the aim of locating a person with whom they reportedly had disagreements. Initially, they went to the wrong address, banging on the door and breaking a plant pot and the lock of an unrelated home before realizing their mistake.
Subsequently, they moved to the correct house on the same street. After waking the victim and their family with door-banging and threatening shouts, they left the scene upon the arrival of the Police. However, they returned once the patrols had departed, this time armed with knives.
In this second incident, the accused set fire to the exhaust pipe of an air conditioning unit protruding from a living room window, protected only by a piece of cardboard. The Public Prosecutor's Office emphasizes that this action placed the occupants' lives in grave danger, given the 'high combustibility' of the materials and the proximity of curtains that could have rapidly spread the fire throughout the property.
The fire was immediately extinguished by the affected resident. Shortly thereafter, a police unit intercepted the suspects, who were carrying two knives with 16 and 10-centimeter blades at the time.
This action placed the occupants' lives in grave danger, given the 'high combustibility' of the materials and the proximity of curtains that could have rapidly spread the fire throughout the property.
For these actions, the Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking seven years in prison for attempted arson endangering life and personal integrity, and an additional year for a threat offense. Furthermore, it requests a restraining order of 500 meters and a prohibition of communication with the victims for three years, as well as the confiscation of the seized knives.
