The fair, organized by the Zuheros City Council in collaboration with Los Balanchares, Quesería de la Sierra Subbética, will take place at the Paseo de la Constitución. Its aim is to boost the local economy and tourism, providing a promotional platform for producers and agri-food companies.
Félix Romero, delegate for Economic Development of the Provincial Council, emphasized that this edition reaffirms the importance of artisanal cheese in the gastronomic and tourist promotion of Zuheros. He noted that 2026 will be the year of cheese for Córdoba, culminating with the World Cheese Awards in November in the capital.
Romero stressed that the festival demonstrates the popularity of cheese, the commitment to quality products of origin, and the fusion of product with territory, aligning with the strategy of the ‘Sabor a Córdoba’ brand.
The mayor of Zuheros, Juan Manuel Poyato, highlighted the economic impact of the fair, benefiting the town and surrounding villages, with an expected attendance of over 15,000 people in three days. The City Council has provided 110 new parking spaces for the event.
Juan de Dios Serrano, manager of Los Balanchares, detailed that 23 stands will participate, featuring over 60 types of cheese from small artisanal producers, who play a vital role in retaining population and livestock farmers while preserving traditional recipes.
