The Intercaza 2026 hunting fair, promoted by the Provincial Council of Cordoba, will be the venue for the twenty-seventh edition of this event. This year, the fair will host the Podenquero Awards, organized by Todomontería, with their gala taking place at the Palacio de la Merced, the provincial institution's headquarters.
Félix Romero, delegate for Economic Development, Promotion, and Employment of the Provincial Council, expressed the institution's satisfaction in bringing the fifteenth edition of these awards to Cordoba. These accolades aim to recognize the best hunts and professional hunting organizations of the season, evaluating the results and development of the hunting days.
Romero highlighted that the gala, previously held in Badajoz, signifies recognition for Intercaza's trajectory, having established itself as a benchmark in the national hunting calendar. The president of the Provincial Institute for Economic Development (Iprodeco) also noted the awards' evolution, with approximately 72 organizations submitting entries in 2025, of which 30 were awarded after analyzing around 1,200 hunting days.
The format of the gala includes the presentation of awards by category, special tributes (to collectives or in memoriam), and a subsequent tasting of game meats. The awards are divided into two main sections: the Honorary Podenqueros, recognizing personalities, companies, and institutions in the sector across categories such as Hunting Estate, Hunting Traditions, Art and Culture, Young Hunter, Pack of Hounds, Company of the Year, Hunting Excellence, Special Distinction, and Hunting Personality.
The second group comprises the Podenquero Awards by Hunt Category, which bestow bronze, silver, and gold statuettes upon the best deer, wild boar, fallow deer, and mouflon hunts, in both open and fenced hunting modalities, in addition to the best value-for-money category. These are complemented by Special Awards for Social or Solidarity Hunts, Best Hunting Programs, Hunt of the Year, and Revelation Organization.
