The Council's Architecture and Urbanism Service (SAU) has overseen the project's execution, transforming the old dirt field into a modern sports facility. The artificial turf used is a reused material, sourced from the football field in Almodóvar del Río, which significantly reduced costs.
The intervention has equipped the venue with a sports surface of approximately 6,500 square meters, including an 11-a-side football pitch and two 7-a-side pitches. Additionally, irrigation systems with pop-up sprinklers and a 20,000-liter water tank have been installed to ensure the maintenance of the new playing surface.
The mayor of Ochavillo del Río, Manuel Arjona, thanked the Provincial Council of Córdoba for its collaboration, highlighting that the project, long-awaited, includes the refurbishment of goals, the field perimeter, and lighting.
For 2026, further actions are planned through the PFEA program, such as paving, the creation of a spectator area, and expanding seating capacity with two new grandstand modules, reaching an approximate capacity of 300 people.
The Autonomous Local Entity (ELA) has supplemented these improvements with its own funds, undertaking the construction of a paddle tennis court, a storage building, upgrading lighting to LED technology, and maintenance work on changing rooms and showers.
