The well-established cultural event will take place both in performance spaces and on the streets, with the support of the Provincial Council of Córdoba. The Provincial Council's Delegate for Culture, Gabriel Duque, highlighted the support through the Relevantes Program and Opera in the Province, acknowledging the cultural trajectory of Lucena, the largest municipality in the province.
The Councilor for Culture of the Lucena City Council, Francisco Jesús Barbancho, thanked the Diputación for its ongoing collaboration and emphasized the municipal effort to maintain an intense and high-quality cultural agenda. The Theater Week, which will celebrate its third decade next year, will present plays of various genres, including musical, horror, and opera, featuring 'The Barber of Seville'.
The program will be distributed across five venues, including the municipal theaters and public spaces such as Plaza de Archidona, Plaza Nueva, and the Patio de Armas of Castillo del Moral. The Culture Technician, Julio Flores, detailed the diversity of proposals, ranging from aerial shows and magic galas to works by authors like Arthur Miller ('A View from the Bridge') and adaptations of Stephen King ('Misery'), as well as tributes to female playwrights of the Spanish Golden Age.
The opening on October 14 will feature 'El desván de los hermanos Grimm' and 'El barbero de Sevilla'. On October 15, 'Misery', starring Carmen Conessa and Marcial Álvarez, will be performed, followed on October 16 by the musical 'Lope Exprés'. The 'ALUCENAnte' gala will take place on October 18, while 'A View from the Bridge' will be presented on October 21.
Other notable performances include 'Compatibles' on October 22, 'Los últimos cómicos' and 'Hypnos' on October 23, and Goyo Jiménez's 'América Forever' alongside the contemporary urban dance piece 'Famulus 4.0' on October 24. The closing on October 25 will feature 'Inolvidable', a journey through the life of the great Rocío Dúrcal.
