The delegate for Social Rights of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Irene Aguilera, has presented a report on the Home Care Service for the first half of 2026. During this period, the provincial institution has transferred a total of 46,047,867.62 euros to the municipalities.
This credit transfer has enabled the assistance of 11,600 dependent individuals in the province, who received a total of 2,759,568.59 hours of care.
Aguilera also highlighted the service's impact on employment, estimating that 5,200 auxiliary workers performed this role during the first half of the year, with 90% being women, making the service a significant generator of female employment.
The president of the Provincial Institute of Social Welfare (IPBS) also emphasized the importance of this provision as a support for many families, offering respite to caregivers.
According to Aguilera, efforts have been made to increase care hours: from 20 to 37 hours for dependency grade I; from 38 to 64 monthly hours for grade II; and from 65 to 94 hours for grade III.
Regarding funding, the Regional Government of Andalusia maintains a substantial commitment, increasing the hourly financing rate for the service. It has risen from the 13 €/hour financed in the initial years to the 17.46 € per hour recently approved for 2026 by the Andalusian government.
Aguilera stressed the necessary collaboration between administrations—the Regional Government of Andalusia, municipalities, and the Provincial Council—acknowledging the arduous and meticulous work required to meet each user's needs.
The delegate emphasized that these figures reflect the firm commitment of the Provincial Council of Córdoba to this service, considering it one of the most suitable for dependent individuals.
Therefore, the service must be provided with all guarantees of quality and efficiency, making coordination, collaboration, and understanding between municipalities, service providers, and the provincial institution itself through the IPBS essential.
