The Agrosocial project, funded by Feder funds within the Interreg POCTEP Spain-Portugal cross-border program, aims to provide visibility and recognition to innovative solutions and best practices in the social and agro-food economy. Ana Rosa Ruz, delegate for Finance and European Funds at the Diputación de Córdoba, highlighted the initiative's cross-border cooperation character.
Ten initiatives will be selected for inclusion in the Agrosocial Catalogue. Three finalists will be invited to present their experiences at the Agrosocial Forum, scheduled for late 2026, promoting knowledge exchange and the creation of cooperation opportunities.
The application period is open until August 31, 2026. Interested parties can consult the participation conditions and submit their applications through the official call platform: convocatriaagrosocial.softr.app.
Ana Rosa Ruz encouraged participation, emphasizing that the call, driven by the Portuguese association Odiana, aims to highlight the role of the social economy in building more resilient, competitive, and sustainable territories, improving rural areas and creating opportunities for future generations.
The ‘Agrosocial’ project, co-financed by the Spain-Portugal Interreg POCTEP 2021-2027 Cross-border Program, is a pioneering initiative seeking to boost the social economy ecosystem in the agro-food sector of the cross-border regions, including Galicia, Northern Portugal, Alentejo, Algarve, Extremadura, and Andalucía.
With the participation of 11 key partners, the project will run until the end of 2026 with objectives such as promoting generational renewal in rural areas, the digital transformation of cooperatives and agro-food companies, and addressing challenges like unemployment and depopulation.
The initiative features a digital platform (campus.agrosocial.eu) offering resources such as a subsidy finder, online training courses, and plans to boost the cross-border social economy ecosystem. Additionally, access is available to the Digital Diagnosis Test to measure the digitalization level and sustainability impact of agro-food social economy companies.
