The Iberoroman Festum Days return to Almedinilla from August 12-16 for their 19th edition, themed ‘Mulierum Virtutes (Re)discovering Iberian Women’, as presented at the Palacio de la Merced.

The Palacio de la Merced, headquarters of the Provincial Council of Cordoba, hosted the presentation of the Iberoroman Festum Days. This initiative, reaching its nineteenth edition, will take place in Almedinilla from August 12 to 16 under the title ‘Mulierum Virtutes (Re)discovering Iberian Women’.
The delegate for Culture of the provincial institution, Gabriel Duque, along with the Councilor for Culture of Almedinilla, Fran Vicente, and the Head of Heritage and Tourism, Natalia Zardain, detailed the proposal, described by Duque as “one of the most relevant cultural offerings in our province”.
Duque highlighted that these days attract numerous visitors to the municipality in the Subbética region and emphasized how historical heritage becomes a driver for local development. He noted that the days, part of the Singular Projects program, enhance the value of archaeological sites such as the Roman villa and the Iberian settlement in the town.
For his part, Fran Vicente stressed the historical rigor of the event, which combines leisure, education, and creativity, with the active participation of many local residents. He highlighted the importance of the days for the town, whose heritage resources receive over 10,000 annual visits, 5,000 of which are linked to Festum. He added that many activities are free and open to all.
Natalia Zardain focused on this year's program, which will give prominence to Iberian women, a less-known historical figure, partly due to the recent discovery of two Iberian female tombs at the archaeological site. These figures will be explored in activities such as showcooking and monologues.
The complete program for the 19th edition of the Iberoroman Festum Days is available on the website of the Almedinilla City Council.
