The City Hall hosted the presentation of the poster for the IV Velá del Arenal, an event promoted by the Seville City Council in collaboration with the entities and brotherhoods of El Arenal. The artwork, by Rocío González, depicts the facade of the Capilla de la Piedad of the Hermandad del Baratillo, a significant location for this annual neighborhood gathering.
The program of activities, taking place over the upcoming weekend, includes notable performances. On Friday, at 9:15 PM, Niño Plata will perform, followed at 10:30 PM by Álvaro Carrillo. On Saturday, the stage will feature Lerende at 9:00 PM and the Coro D. Cecilio at 10:30 PM.
Amidea Navarro highlighted the "strong confraternity and bullfighting character" of the Velá, which will coincide with the departure of attendees from the bullfights of the San Miguel cycle. The delegate emphasized that the festival is a "magnificent opportunity for encounter and coexistence among the neighborhood's residents," fostering community spirit in an "unbeatable atmosphere".
Navarro encouraged all Sevillians and visitors to participate in this solidarity initiative by visiting Calle Adriano to enjoy local traditions. She expressed gratitude to the brotherhoods of El Arenal and the Arenal-Torre del Oro Neighborhood Association for their "commitment to ensuring these days are filled with enjoyment and coexistence".
All proceeds from the Velá will be allocated to the welfare fund of the nine neighborhood brotherhoods: La Carretería, El Baratillo, Las Aguas, Jesús Despojado, La Soledad de San Buenaventura, Guadalupe, La Pura y Limpia, La Sacramental del Sagrario, and La Corona.
