Seville's Urban Planning Authority has initiated the process to contract a company that will draft the technical construction project. After the deadline for submitting offers passed, their evaluation is now underway. The goal is to transform these two industrial buildings into a center for employment guidance, support, and innovation.
This new space will promote training and entrepreneurship through coworking areas, new technology training, entrepreneur counseling, and mentorship support for startups and local businesses. The initiative aims to preserve and enhance the historical industrial heritage of the complex, designed by regionalist architect Aurelio Gómez Millán between 1962 and 1964.
The technical project includes the renovation of the buildings' envelopes and the integration of current energy sustainability systems. The works, valued at 233,606 euros, will encompass a preliminary topographical survey, building diagnostics, a health and safety study, and support for the Urban Planning Authority technicians overseeing the construction.
This initiative continues the redevelopment of the industrial complex, which had been disused for over two decades. Alongside the construction of the planned 919 homes, the renovation of the industrial warehouses aims to bring new life and activity to these structures that once defined the character of the Alcosa neighborhood.
